about

Some people get to go to school, graduate, and immediately begin their professional careers as professional artists.

Haley Rose Schrock-Kitzmiller is not one of those people.

While studying at Carthage College, she fell in love with her studies. Her days were filled with her favorite things: art, epistemology, and great conversations with exceptional people.

After graduation, as a Waffle House Manager (Unit #1689), she learned how little all of that means to "the real world."

At first, this upset her.

But, not anymore.

Somewhere between the piles of broken eggshells, the UGA Bulldogs going 29-0, and learning how to crochet with the ladies from church, she realized that Stephen King was right all along: "Life isn't a support system for art. It's the other way around."

Thank God.
