About

Some people get to go to school, graduate, and immediately begin their professional careers as professional artists.

Haley Rose Schrock-Kitzmiller is not one of those people.

While studying at Carthage College, she fell in love with her studies. Her days were filled with her favorite things: art, epistemology, day trips to Chicago, and great conversations with exceptional people.

After graduation, as a Waffle House Manager (Unit #1689), she learned how little all of that means to "the real world."

And, at first, this upset her.

But, not anymore.

Somewhere between the piles of broken eggshells; the UGA Bulldogs going 29-0; and learning how to crochet with the ladies from church, she realized that Stephen King was right all along: "Life isn't a support system for art. It's the other way around."

Thank God.
